Passionately interested in environmental issues since her Girl Scout days, she discovered green business concepts in the 1990s and became an independent copywriter serving green businesses in 2005. Since then, her marketing skills have expanded to include web content development, information product development, and Web 2.0 (online social networking and social posting). She now offers on-site consulting and tutorial intensives for clients looking to develop their own Web 2.0 presence.
Realizing that many small businesses were interested but confused about going green, she pursued the intensive Green Irene training in 2009. Since then, she has expanded her business to include eco-consulting services, workshops, and public presentations, in addition to a growing number of eco-friendly products and referrals to specialized service providers.
Ms. Hoopes is a member of the Catonsville Chamber, Green America, the Chesapeake Sustainable Business Alliance, the Green Building Institute and the On Purpose Network.
